Booking is now open for Hothouse Level 1 – SPARK, a FREE choreographic training programme for ages 14 – 21 run by YDance in partnership with Scottish Ballet and regional partners Dance Base, Scottish Dance Theatre and Citymoves.
Hothouse will help you develop as a young choreographer by:
- Developing your choreographic skills and knowledge
- Exposing you to positive role models within the industry
- Encouraging your own creative independent voice and unique style
- Supporting you as young emerging artist to create a piece for performance (Level 2 – IGNITE only)
Two participants from each regional Level 1 – SPARK will be selected to move on to Level 2 – IGNITE.
Hothouse Level 1 – SPARK will take place at the following locations. Please note; participants only need to select ONE date, not all four.

Who can take part?
Hothouse is open to anyone aged 14 to 21 years old at the time of submitting their application. You should have an interest in creating your own choreography and a desire to develop your choreographic skills and knowledge. We encourage dancers from a variety of dancing backgrounds to take part. Please note you must be from, or living in Scotland to apply.
