UPDATED 13:09PM on Friday 15th May 2020
In response to the ongoing threat from the COVID-19 virus, we have suspended all personal delivery of YDance’s programme, to ensure the safety of our participants and staff. We are continuing to monitor all advice from Government and from industry bodies to ensure we are up to date with developments and are taking appropriate action.
The YDance office is closed, some staff are furloughed, and others are working from home and can be reached by email. Any telephone calls to the office will be directed to call a member of staff’s mobile number.
For the following projects, the current status is as follows:
CLPL courses for teachers and Dance Artist CPD courses
The courses scheduled in May have been cancelled, and will be rescheduled later in the year when advice on social distancing allows us to safely deliver training. Those who booked for the course in May will be given a full refund and will have priority booking when the training block is re-scheduled.
Horizons Aberdeen and Horizons Stirling
Recruitment Days will now take place later in the year. Online applications will remain open and applicants will be contacted once new dates are confirmed.
YCreate
YCreate classes are currently suspended, and a decision on when to restart classes will be made in-line with Government advice later in the year. Online video classes suitable for the YCreate age range are available weekly on our website.
Hothouse Level 2
Sessions are cancelled, and participants will be contacted directly by staff regarding future programme delivery.
National Youth Dance Company of Scotland
NYDCS is continuing to meet online and has created a dance film during lockdown. The planned tour performances in June and July have been cancelled.
Horizons Glasgow
Rehearsals are suspended until further notice, and YDance staff will be in contact with participants directly.
Project Y Performance Course 2020
The Project Y Performance Course has been cancelled and YDance is working to create an online offer for those selected to be part of the company.
Anyone who has questions about YDance’s work at this time, please email carolyn@ydance.org directly.
Stay safe!
