We all know the saying, “healthy mind, healthy body” but can dancing actually make you smarter? 

This article is based on the 21-year study of senior citizens, led by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and published in the New England Journal of Medicine.  Their method for measuring mental acuity was in aging and monitoring rates of dementia; they found that dancing decreases the risk of dementia by 76%. 

Evidence has also been presented on the positive affects dancing can have on all ages, with dancing integrating several brain functions at once — kinesthetic, rational, musical, and emotional — further increasing your neural connectivity.
