One Step Further (2014 – 2016)

For two years YDance offered young dancers across Scotland the opportunity to take part in the One Step Further (OSF) masterclass programme.

Led by Anna Kenrick (YDance Artistic Director) or Matthew Robinson (Scottish Dance Theatre) participants experienced a very energetic, physical and creative day-long workshop where they got to develop their own creative process.

One Step Further offered a free masterclass experience thanks to Creative Scotland’s commitment to the delivery of the Time to Shine youth arts strategy. Anna or Matthew worked in schools, colleges and universities to deliver the masterclass which included the following elements:

• Contemporary technique class
• Choreographic development workshop
• Repertoire workshop
• Discussion of national opportunities available to young dancers including Project Y and the National Youth Dance company of Scotland.
