Together We Grow (2019)

Together We Grow was an 8-week programme in partnership with NHS Tayside and St John’s RC High School.

The programme promoted health and wellbeing topics to young people through dance, drama and storytelling. The project worked with eight S1 pupils who were selected as Health Ambassadors with the aim of raising the awareness of healthy choices in local nurseries.

YDance worked closely with NHS Tayside to promote informative health workshops to raise awareness of a healthy lifestyle. Participants explored the target topics through practical activities. Movement and storytelling workshops were delivered around the concerns raised by participants and staff. The S1 Health Ambassadors visited targeted nurseries and facilitated an interactive performance workshop based on healthy choices.

To promote parental engagement, family members were invited to the story telling sessions. The aim was to encourage creative play for the children with their guardians and provide opportunity for parents to further support and encourage the development of healthy living within the home.
