Youth Voice and Support

Youth Voice and Support

YDance wants to ensure that young people are offered opportunities where they can express their views and opinions on what the dance sector needs to offer them and get real life experience of what a job in youth and community dance entails.  These opportunities are open to young people with or without a disability aged 14 -25 years and we welcome young people from all backgrounds and communities.

If you want to get involved, you can, through the following two programmes:

National Youth Arts Advisory Group Forum – Dance

We want to hear your thoughts about dance in Scotland!

What dance happens in your area ? What would you like to see happen?

The Youth Dance Forum aims to bring together young people from across Scotland who have experienced any type of dance and those who haven’t but maybe would like to!

If you have tried dance once or go every week we would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about dance and the arts in Scotland.

The group will meet online and  in person and the forum will involve a discussion session with a chance to speak and listen. You will meet other young people and have fun!

This forum will be led by Marcus and Emma, members of the National Youth Dance Company and Anna and Kelly from YDance.

Dates for the forum:

  • September 29th – 6-730pm via zoom
  • November 10th 6-730pm via zoom
  • December 10th – Venue details TBC

If you are aged 14 – 25 years and want to get involved in this years forum please email lauren@ydance.org.

The youth dance forum is part of the National Youth Arts Advisory Group programme of work, supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland. The National Youth Arts Advisory Group supports children and young people to be heard, to lead and take action on the issues that are important to them.
