Young Voice and Support
YDance wants to ensure that young people are offered opportunities where they can express their views and opinions on what the dance sector needs to offer them and opportunities for development and growth. YDance is also committed to supporting young people and the next generation of teaching dance artists in Scotland to develop their skills and teaching practice. We understand that self-development is critical and happens through a range of experiences which allow for shadowing, questioning and reflection.
To ensure young people and emerging teaching artists be heard and have a rich training in dance methodologies that can be used in high-quality dance experiences in a range of educational and community settings, YDance offers the following
Youth Dance Forum
The youth dance forum will bring together young people from across the YDance programme, young people involved in dance from across the country and connects with young people who haven’t experienced dance yet. We will do this through online and in person forums which give young people time to discuss their journey into dance, what they want from dance projects and what is needed locally and nationally. This will happen each Autumn and in 2022 this will tie in with Time to Shine National Youth Arts Advisory Forum.
If you are aged 14 – 25 years and want to get involved in this years forum please email lauren@ydance.org before 31st August 2022.
