Growing Day is a professional development opportunity and networking event for dance artists experienced in delivering youth dance activities.
Growing Day is a one-day online event that offers dance artists in the youth dance sector the opportunity to dance together, share, learn and connect with their peers across the country. In these challenging times this day will focus on ensuring the youth dance leaders in Scotland can come together to focus on the future and make time for their own development.
To take part in Growing Day you must:
- Be based in Scotland
- Be aged over 21
- Be a professional dance artist experienced in delivering youth dance activities. We welcome applications from those emerging in their practice to established partitioners.

9.30am – 4pm

9.30am – Check in/Welcome
10am – 11.15am – Contemporary technique class with Gillian Montgomery
This energetic contemporary class will take you through a variety of phrases which focus on shifting energy, transference of weight and dynamic expansive movement.
11.30am – 1.15pm – Choreographic workshop with Artistic Director Anna Kenrick
Choreographic workshop to reconnect with your own movement vocabulary and ideas to revitalise and energise.
1.15pm – 2.15pm – Break
2.15pm – 4pm – Peer sharing session
In this peer sharing sessions we will be discussing successes, challenges and looking forward to YDance Destinations 2021.
What costs are involved?
Tickets cost £10 per person for the whole day.
How do I book?
To book your place on Growing Day please complete the booking form below. Once you have completed and submitted your booking form you must go to our online shop and select Growing Day in the courses section to make your payment. Your booking is not confirmed until payment has been made.
Deadline for bookings and payment is Sunday 13th December.
We will email all bookers after the closing date with the Zoom link, password and our health and safety guidance document.
