2014 Commonwealth Youth Dance Festival
The Commonwealth Youth Dance Festival 2014 was a fantastic experience for everyone involved – participants, group leaders, YDance staff and volunteers and the audiences.
The 400 talented young dancers (36 groups) who came together from Australia, Canada, England, India, Malta, Namibia, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Singapore and Wales were fantastic and brought a real buzz to all of the Festival venues. All three main house performances at Tramway sold out and so did Jumping Into the Unknown – a programme of new dance works created by young choreographers involved in the Hothouse choreographic residency (in partnership with Scottish Ballet).
