NYDCS FOUNDATIONS
NYDCS FOUNDATIONS is our high-quality, prevocational programme that helps younger dancers, aged 13-18, to develop their technical, creative, choreographic and performance skills. This dedicated training programme also provides a pathway to NYDCS and access to careers in dance.
It’s designed for young people who are passionate about dance, want opportunities to develop, want to learn new skills in contemporary dance, and want to create a new piece of dance for performance.
From January to July 2027, participants will engage in advanced training, led by highly-trained, specialised teaching artists from YDance & NYDCS alumni mentors, allowing them to develop new skills, knowledge, and confidence.

It is open to all 13–18 year-old dancers who show exceptional talent in dance and may lack access to dance courses in the Renfrewshire, Aberdeen, or Dundee area.
You do not need to live in these areas; however, you will need to travel to attend, if required.

NYDCS Foundations
Our young dancers from Inverclyde and Aberdeen took part in panels at Destinations 2026; performed at Merchant City Festival, Glasgow; Into the Light, Aberdeen; and U.Dance Festival, Glasgow.
